Colleen Hoover book series review

Hello Readers!

This time, I’m sharing not one, but two book reviews.
I recently finished Colleen Hoover's emotional rollercoaster series, It Ends with Us and It Starts with Us, and I couldn’t wait to discuss both together. These books delve into the complexities of love, trauma, and healing, and I'm excited to share my thoughts with you all.

It Ends with Us is an emotional book, whereas It Starts with Us is a comforting, dramatic book.

Lily Bloom, Ryle Kincaid, and Atlas Corrigan are the main characters in both these books.

Lily Bloom is a courageous and strong woman who has faced trauma and is trying to carve out a new life for herself. Ryle Kincaid, with his charm and arrogance, is the kind of man Lily initially thinks she can love, but his toxic tendencies soon become clear. Then there’s Atlas Corrigan, a mature and kind-hearted man who represents Lily’s first love and a chance for something healthier and more supportive.

It ends with us, starting with Lily's life in Boston, how she runs into Ryle, and gets into a complicated romantic relationship. There are chapters in the book that are very romantic and arrogant the next moment. Problems start arising when Atlas Corrigon, Lily's love from her past life, shows up. As Lily and Ryle's relationship takes the next step, the toxicity increases and it becomes difficult for Lily to manage the emotions and the actions.

It starts with us, which is opposite to the previous book. It also starts with Lily, but with a step ahead in her life—embracing motherhood and running into Atlas this time after her abusive relationship with Ryle. Lily's and Atlas's connection is just as fresh as they had left it in the past. As they grow together in their relationship, they both also navigate their own lives with their own personal problems. But with Atlas, Lily is much happier, and Atlas supports her in every way possible. The bond that they share is full of hope and love.

I really like the supporting characters in the book, especially Atlas's bond with a younger character than him and Lily's bond with a character named Allysa, who is Ryle's sister. Even after whatever happened with Ryle and Lily, Allysa never abandoned Lily. She supported her through her difficult times and is one of her biggest cheerleaders, and they are best friends.

Overall, both these books has LOVE as the main emotion and feeling but alongside of sacrifices, healing, setting boundaries, standing up for yourself, and resilience.

Happy Reading!
