Book Review - The Secret

Image
I first got to know about this book at a seminar I attended in my community. I learnt that this book is about the Law of Attraction. But I never felt the urge to read it since. Then, when I got more familiar with terms like "manifesting," "law of attraction," "affirmations," "positivity," "gratitude," etc., I got this book for my next read.  "To use the law of attraction to your advantage, make it a habitual way of being, not just a one-time thing." The book is a motivational, self-help book. It gives readers hope that they have control over their lives through their thoughts and feelings. However, some critics say that the book oversimplifies life’s challenges and makes it seem like positive thinking alone can solve everything, which may not always be realistic. "The more you use the power within you, the more power you will draw through you." This book is all about the Law of Attraction. It tells you to think posit...

Do you have any habits?  Do you build new habits but keep forgetting them? Do you want to know how to build effective habits and follow them? Well, I struggle too with my habits. Be it breaking bad ones, building new ones, or following it consistently. I got my hands on this popular book; you know which one I am talking about. Atomic Habits by James Clear.  This book is all about habits. But don't worry, it won't bore you. A self-help book that briefly talks about habits forming, breaking bad habits, following new habits, and being motivated to follow them every day with examples. It contains a lot of examples of athletes, top performers, business leaders, and comedians with practical, tried-and-tested. It explains how to create a habit, step by step, and how to break a bad one.  "The holy grail of habit change is not a single 1 perc...

Book Review - A Thousand Splendid Suns

Image
The last book I read before my break was A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and What a book is this?  It kept both me and my mom so engrossed in it. Every page I read was so heart touching. PS: You might get teary eyed in some pages. This book's plot takes place in Kabul. Along with the other supporting characters, Mariam and Laila, two ladies, are the major characters. The author presents every detail of their life in a very natural way, going back to their early years, difficulties, how they met, and happy moments.  Not only are the details of these women's lives described with excellent detail, but we also get to see the surrounding area, the streets of Kabul, the restaurants, and how the city had become a war zone. This book portrays multiple expressions of love, including the love between a father and daughter, a girl and a boy, the love between two strangers who eventually developed a priceless bond, and the love between a mother and her daughter. In short, it w...

BOOK REVIEW - YOU CAN WIN

Image
"Winners don't do different things, they do things differently." YOU CAN WIN by Shiv Khera is a motivational, self help book, a book that has different steps and lessons to reach success  This book is an action plan along with deep understanding of different terms and principles to prepare you for Success. There are a lot of topics covered in this book which you know about but you have not implemented it in your life. The author explains these topics with examples of stories and how to apply the principle in your life. I like the part of the book where after every chapter there is an exercise given which you can do it. It is an action plan wherein you analyze and take a deeper look at your current actions and can apply what you just read in the chapter, in your life.     I think there could be more exercises because the reader is taking in a lot of knowledge at once and it would be confusing when you cannot implement it the right way. I took time to read this b...
