Book Review - Too Good To Be True

What if one day the person you’ve always dreamed of walks into your life, and it feels too perfect to be true?

That’s the heart of Too Good To Be True by Prajakta Koli — a story that blends love, healing, and the unexpectedness of destiny.

The book begins with Avani, a young, bubbly girl living alone in Mumbai. Her friends and her beloved Aaji are the closest thing she has to family. One day at a bookstore, she meets Aman — the perfect stranger — and their connection feels instant and surreal. As their story unfolds, the narrative takes you through the warmth and complexities of new love, while subtly weaving in deeper themes of grief, self-worth, and emotional growth.

If you’re familiar with Prajakta’s content, the writing will feel effortlessly her — honest, humorous, and grounded. It’s not overly dramatic, which is refreshing. Instead, it stays real and heartfelt. I picked up the book out of curiosity, and I’m glad I did. As a debut novel, it’s impressive — a cozy, feel-good read that still manages to leave an emotional mark.
