BOOK REVIEW - THE ALCHEMIST

Image
I am really late in reading and reviewing this book and I think by now probably a lot of book lovers must have read it and discussed it with the readers. But after days of buying this book and planning to read it and then forgetting about it and then starting to read it all over again, I have finally finished the book. The International bestseller - The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a book about following your dreams. The main character of the book is a shepherd boy named Santiago from Andalusia. The whole story of this book revolves around how the boy follows his heart to fulfill his dreams and solve his problems. Throughout his journey he meets new people who have different opinions but still he does what he feels right.  I liked a few quotes from this book which are: "When you want something, all of the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." which is quite famous, “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” “One is lov...

BOOK REVIEW - YOU CAN WIN

Image
"Winners don't do different things, they do things differently." YOU CAN WIN by Shiv Khera is a motivational, self help book, a book that has different steps and lessons to reach success  This book is an action plan along with deep understanding of different terms and principles to prepare you for Success. There are a lot of topics covered in this book which you know about but you have not implemented it in your life. The author explains these topics with examples of stories and how to apply the principle in your life. I like the part of the book where after every chapter there is an exercise given which you can do it. It is an action plan wherein you analyze and take a deeper look at your current actions and can apply what you just read in the chapter, in your life.     I think there could be more exercises because the reader is taking in a lot of knowledge at once and it would be confusing when you cannot implement it the right way. I took time to read this b...

Why did I start BLOGGING ?

What is a Blog? Well I did not know about blog until I created one in my college for some reason which I don't remember now. But I know that - A blog is a platform where people can share their thoughts, views, experiences and other information about a topic. I thought of starting my blog during the lockdown when I remembered that I too had created a blog and haven't used it and wanted to take my writings a step ahead. I started writing in my school days when I was introduced to various types of writing. I practiced and started loving it. I was praised by my teacher for my writings and I have even won a Book Review competition in my Junior College. [I did not expect that] Over the years I have practiced Journal writing and it helps a lot when you cannot understand what to do, get a clear idea of something, calms and relaxes your mind when you are feeling anxious. I really like Writing. It is a way for me to remember how I spent some special occasion, or something unexpecting tha...

ILLUSTRATION

This Lock-down due to covid-19 has changed my routine completely. I have online classes 4 days a week, attend webinars, zoom meetings, work on my college assignments and also handle my interest areas at the same time.  My online sessions start at 8:30 am in the morning so I sit along with my cup of coffee and my Phone and Earplugs are mandatory anyways.  Sometimes my classes extend the timings and I have to re plan all my work just to balance my personal and professional life. And sometimes it so happens that my classes are not scheduled for a particular day, I have the whole day to finish one assignment and within a blink of eye the whole day goes away and not a single assignment is completed- it is just so annoying.  So as shown in the illustration, I have started Multitasking as I have to make documents and reports, 3d modelling, webinars, take care of my health, spend time with my family and friends, get some peace of mind, pray, etc. On the left hand side, many words...

BOOK REVIEW - IT HAPPENS FOR A REASON

Image
Hi everyone, Hope everyone is safe and is staying home. So amidst the lockdown, to spend some time,  I wanted to read a book but it was difficult to  find a book. Though many apps provide softcopy and audiobooks, the real fun is reading one with a hand. Fortunately, I got one and this book attracted me very much. How many times we have cursed our lives and destiny just because something did not go according to what we had thought of?  Yes, even I have done it, and because of this the rest of the day or the moment gets spoiled. So, the Book I was talking about is 'It Happens for a Reason" by Preeti Shenoy. It got an immediate big smile on my face. I could just connect it through the title itself. I started reading it and just could not get the book out of my mind. Every time I finished a chapter, I would feel as if the next chapter is calling me to read it. So the book justifies the title. The whole book tells the story making the readers understand how many and the differ...

COVID-19

As the world is going through the major pandemic covid-19, many places are in lockdown mode! School, colleges, offices are also shut. It is a kind of curfew where people are supposed to stay at homes all the time and not come out. But have you noticed something? This has promoted family time in all the houses. Personally speaking, every night amidst the lockdown in city, my family is having a great time most importantly spending time together-playing different games everyday, listening to stories of the times when riots broke out in Mumbai and yes of course praying together for the betterment of the world. I even heard how people stayed wherever they were when the riots broke out in 1992. People even lost hope of their loved ones coming back home or meeting them again. But it's always overwhelming when you see them when there is no hope, it's a great feeling of satisfaction. And if we see what is happening today, people are not ready to stay home when they are getting...
